WordCamp Edinburgh 2017 : A Weekend of WordPress

WordCamp Edinburgh 2017 Schedule

WordCamp Edinburgh 2017 Schedule

I’m pretty excited to be speaking at WordCamp Edinburgh 2017, where I’ll be presenting two separate sessions.

How To Survive As a New WordPress Service Provider at WordCamp Edinburgh 2017

I’ll give a talk about survival as a new WordPress service provider (or freelancer). New service providers face challenges and competition each year. In this talk, I’ll be providing my own unique take on survival strategies and techniques. I’ve titled the talk How to Survive as a New WordPress Service Provider: 7 Lessons from the Field. As you can expect, I’ll be covering this topic in some length on this blog. More on that later…

Incidentally, this talk will be my first presentation to a WordPress audience since I first adopted the platform in 2011. Its been an interesting journey from then to where I now offer services as a WooCommerce and WordPress consultant and contractor. I’ll be sharing some of that journey in my talk.

Hands On WooCommerce WOOrkshop at WordCamp Edinburgh 2017

Also at WordCamp Edinburgh 2017, I will be facilitating a hands-on WooCommerce workshop with an Automattician, no less. I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to work alongside Automattician Luminus Alabi for this workshop. We’ll be providing a walkthrough of WooCommerce latest and greatest features. Workshop attendees will also get a chance for hands-on practice, plus a comprehensive Q&A session. Juicy!

WordCamp Edinburgh will be happening in ..well..Edinburgh on July 22-23. This happens to be a Saturday and Sunday. The venue for the WordCamp is Codebase, which is the UK’s largest startup incubator. It is located at the foot of Edinburgh Castle.

WordCamp Edinburgh 2017 tickets are still available, but they’re fast running out.

WordCamps & WordCamp Edinburgh 2017

What is a WordCamp?

A WordCamp is a community-organized conference, designed for anyone who uses the WordPress platform. It is meant for *everyone* who uses WordPress. Not just for developers or designers.

Everyone has something special to contribute to WordPress, and this contribution is welcomed and encouraged. The conferences are diverse and inclusive.

WordCamps are also a great opportunity to meet people, make new friends, and discover how others are using WordPress in their business or personal lives.
